Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name, birth date, or other query entered in a search tool is transmitted directly to the outside provider operating that service. The provider processes the request and supplies its results; this site does not retain or record the query terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Email correspondence may be retained for the purpose of responding. It is kept within our organization unless disclosure is compelled by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical and usage details when a visitor loads a page, including:
- The referring website, when one is reported
- Page-view dates and times
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- The device's IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to help measure site use, such as popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers combine that activity into traffic reports. You can block cookies through your browser, although doing so may change how certain site features operate.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Routing a search request to the selected outside provider
- Maintaining site availability, speed, and operation
- Measuring which material is useful and where improvements are needed
- Displaying advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests
No Warrant Data on File
No warrant database or collection of personal warrant records is hosted, maintained, assembled, or sold here. The site instead explains where Litchfield County records may be kept, including the issuing Superior Court clerk, the relevant police agency, and PRAWN, whose access is limited to authorized users. Litchfield County Warrant Records is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is never compiled into a consumer report or a dossier about someone else.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies supply and operate the search tools displayed here. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and disclosure practices apply to information submitted through those tools; this policy does not govern that processing. Read the applicable provider's policy before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to municipal police or Connecticut State Police pages, court portals, PRAWN and other state justice resources, legal-aid organizations, or commercial search services. Once you follow an external link, the destination's privacy terms control the visit. Review those terms before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across different websites and select targeted advertisements.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal information is not sold. It may nevertheless be disclosed to the following recipients when necessary:
- Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
- Search providers that process a query submitted through their tool
- Government or law enforcement authorities acting under a valid legal order
- Advertising networks serving material on the site
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards are applied to collected information. No internet-based system can be made completely secure, however, so protection against every possible breach cannot be guaranteed.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from people younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will remove it promptly.
Your Data Rights
When public-agency records are involved, access in Connecticut is governed as applicable by the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, CGS ยงยง1-200 et seq. Applicable Connecticut General Statutes and the privacy or consumer-protection laws where you reside may provide further control over personal data. At a minimum, you may:
- Object to certain forms of processing
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Obtain a copy of information maintained about you
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
